Sathupally ( సత్తుపల్లి) is Named because it is the combination of seven (saath) villages. It is 100 km from Vijayawada and 279 km from Hyderabad. It consists singareni coal mines and it also consists a valuable forest area. Sathupalle is mandal HQ (Mdl code-29) in Khammam Dt, AP. There are 16 villages in this mandal and the villages are:1 YATALA KUNTA, 2 REGALLA PADU, 3 RUDRAKSHA PALLI, 4 BACHARAM, 5 CHERUKUPALLI, 6 JAGANNADHA PURAM, 7 KAKARLAPALLI, 8 SATHUPALLY (U), 9 AYYA GARI PETA, 10 KISTARAM, 11 KOMMEPALLI, 12 REJERLA, 13 SADA SIVUNI PALEM, 14 THUMBUR, 15 SIDDARAM, 16 BETHUPALLI.
The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri. Jalagam Vengalrao belongs to this place. The special tribal police battalion situated in this town. A thermal power station and other industries are coming in and around Sathupally. Tummala Nageswararao, who worked as a cabinet minister in TDP government in various departments belongs to this area. This is the fastest-growing town in Kammam district as this town is very reachable to more than 100 villages. Nowadays Sathupally become one of the good education place.
Sathupally is well known for highly educated people in the Khammam district. Sathupally constituency has got the second highest voting percentage in 2004 election throughout India.
